IMEX stands for Worldwide Exhibition for Incentive Travel, Meetings and Events. It is a major meeting point of the year especially for the individuals involved in the hospitality, events and tourism sector. In partnership with the MPI (Meetings Professionals International) and global meetings and events company (MCI), IMEX-MPI-MCI creates a forum, the Future Leaders Forum, where the students in the industry get a unique and sponsored opportunity to gain expert insight into the meetings industry, learning from and connecting with inspirational industry experts and fellow students. This year five students of Technical University of Kenya got an opportunity after being nominated by their Business Events Mentor.

The Meetings Africa, Future Leaders Forum is an annual event and students from universities across different African countries are given a chance to participate in the event. In the 2020 IMEX Future Leaders Forum event students visit the exhibitions at Meetings Africa which showcases the MICE industry in the African continent. The Technical University of Kenya was privileged to be represented at the event by its five students from the school of Hospitality and Leisure studies. They were among a total of 55 students from the Continent, The five nominated students based on performance were:
